Reimagining Autonomous Driving Scenarios with Human-Centered Design

Square

For the summer of 2018, the BRAVO team is seeking to conceptualize future autonomous vehicle scenarios from a human-centered design lens. The goal is to explore opportunities and develop prototypes that provide whole-body sensory experiences, and solve current mobility problems for passengers.

With an airstream provided for the team by the Renault Innovation Silicon Valley Lab, the team is working on prototyping two potential autonomous vehicle scenarios.

The objectives of this research project are:

  • Conduct research on current passenger needs in the current mobility space
  • Conceptualize potential user scenarios to explore
  • Design prototypes to user test and iterate on to finally present to the public

The team has recently submitted an extended abstract and poster for their project to the International Symposium on Academic Makerspaces (ISAM). The poster is below, and you can find the extended abstract here.

This project is currently a work in progress. Check back later to see the team’s final deliverable at the end of the summer.
